Patient Care
The Eye Institute is a regional center for subspecialty eye care, conveniently located west of the city of Milwaukee in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. It is the only regional center dedicated to eye care in southeastern Wisconsin. Specialty areas are represented by 16 full-time clinical faculty members of the Medical College of Wisconsin with emphasis on tertiary eye care. All patient services are housed within the Eye Institute. Services include general and specialty clinics, diagnostic services, micro-surgery suites and ambulatory patient rooms.
The Eye Institute opened in 1976 as one of only seven centers in the United States dedicated to specialized eye care, vision research and physician training in ophthalmology. Today, the Eye Institute serves as a regional referral center, and schedules approximately 35,000 patient visits per year.
