Medical Student Education

The educational program of the Department of Ophthalmology has been in existence since the 1940's when a formal training program was established for graduate physicians who wanted to specialize in ophthalmology.

Over the next two decades, several clinical sites were established as ophthalmology training centers, and in 1966 the training program was integrated under the sponsorship of Marquette University School of Medicine, which was later renamed the Medical College of Wisconsin.
